The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is inviting all persons who have fallen victim to Gamel Issaka, alias Fagati, to come forward and assist with investigations following his arrest.
Fagati, who styled himself as the Managing Director of Fagati Limited Real Estate Developers, Suppliers and General Merchants, is accused of orchestrating one of the most brazen land scams in Kpone Katamanso and the East Legon Hills enclave. For years, he allegedly sold the same parcels of land to multiple buyers and absconded with huge sums of money.
Police sources say the scale of his fraudulent operations is vast, with dozens of complaints already lodged. Families have been displaced, investors have lost their savings, and communities have suffered widespread disruption. The SIU believes more victims are yet to come forward and is therefore urging anyone defrauded by Fagati to report immediately with documents and proof of payment to strengthen the case.
Investigators described his arrest as a major step in dismantling land fraud syndicates in the region. Meanwhile, victims who have already spoken out are demanding justice, calling for Fagati to face the full weight of the law to deter others.
The Ghana Police Service is appealing to the public to cooperate, noting that the success of the case hinges on the testimonies and evidence of those affected.
This is a developing story. All victims are urged to report to the SIU without delay.
