The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement, has applauded President John Dramani Mahama and especially Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, on their assumption of office as president and first female vice president respectively.
Speaking to the media early this week, the president of Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement, Margaret Nkansah Ansong (Mrs.) extended the members heartfelt congratulations to the first female as vice president for the historic achievement.
She was optimistic Prof. Naana Jane’s new role is not only a personal gain but a monumental step for gender equity and women’s empowerment in Ghana and beyond. “As an accomplished academic, trailblazer, and leader, you have broken barriers and inspired countless women to dream bigger and aim higher,” she said.
Mrs. Nkansah Ansong hinted that the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement, is particularly inspired by the progressive policies championed under her leadership, including the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank and the provision of free sanitary pads for schoolgirls.
“Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement, we look forward to the implementation of the policies to promote equity, inclusivity, and sustainable development for all. Your leadership assures us that the voices of women will be amplified, their contributions recognized, and their challenges addressed with urgency and empathy,” she emphasis.
The movement pledged its unwavering support and solidarity to the vice president as she embarks on this transformative journey.
“Together, we will work towards a Ghana where every woman and girl can realize their full potential” she lamented,” she noted.
Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement, she said, comprises of about 800 members who are all females and doing their businesses.
Mrs. Nkansah Ansong, therefore, appealed to Her Excellency Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to give its members a slot to enable them bring in more investors into the country and to also boost Ghana’s economy.
