The Managing Director of State Housing Company Limited, Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has donated some computers and a projector to his alma mater, Martyrs Of Uganda Preparatory School in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.
The donation forms part of his measures to equip students with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills to enhance research work and promote education in the area.
Mr Kwabena Ampofo, who is an old boy of the school, said he would ensure that the ICT laboratory was connected to the internet.
At the presentation, he said this contribution is a small step towards fulfilling the school’s need for about 80 computers. Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory School played a crucial role in shaping my education, and I am forever grateful to the dedicated teachers who laid a solid foundation for me’’.
He therefore urged the school authorities and the student body to put the computers to good use.
The authorities of the school also expressed gratitude to him for the kind gesture and called on old students to team up to help develop the school.
