Series of demonstrations by some supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the Electoral Commission (EC) comes of no surprise, as the Founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews (Osofo Kyiriabossom) gave a revelation before the elections.
The Presidential Candidate of GUM in this year’s elections revealed during an interview with an Accra based radio station, Peace Fm, that the EC would face numerous attacks from supporters of a defeated political party after the elections.
Many Ghanaians have therefore heaped several praises on the politician who is also the Founder and Leader of the Life Assembly Worship Centre for his revelations which has successfully come to pass.
It can be seen that series of demonstrations continues to hit all EC offices across the country by some supporters of the NDC over their displeasure with the outcome of the elections.
Hundreds of supporters of the NDC yesterday also invaded the head office of the Electoral Commission chanting war songs and also further burnt car tyres signaling the Chairperson of the EC, Mrs. Jean Mensa, to turn the 2020 elections presidential result in favour of the their candidate.
Though, GUM was new when it comes to Ghana’s politics, Kyiriabossom emerged third in the 2020 presidential elections.
The Outspoken Politician in the just ended 2020 presidential elections obtained 105,565 votes representing 0.805% of the 13,434,574 total votes cast.
When approached to react to the happenings in the country prior to the just ended elections, he stated it was a mere revelations given to him by God.
Kyiriabossom was however optimistic the actions of the supporters of the NDC would not affect the outcome of the just ended presidential elections.
The Man of God seized the opportunity and expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians who voted for him in the elections, saying that his position with regard to the presidential results is an indication that people believe in his policies.
“We give thanks to the almighty God and I am grateful to Ghanaians for believing in me. I know I would get the third place because some people are just tired of the NPP and the NDC. I managed to shock the other smaller political parties because I campaigned so hard with my team. I went to villages and interacted with chiefs and sold my policies to them” he stated.
