Omanhene of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council, Obirfo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II and the entire chiefs under the Traditional Council, have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Chief of Staff to maintain the hard working Gomoa East District Chief executive (DCE), Solomon Darko-Quarm to continue the developmental Projects.
According to the chiefs, achievements of Solomon Darko-Quarm are unprecedented within just two years considering the fact that the Gomoa East District Assembly is among the newly created Assemblies in 2018.
In an interview, Obirfo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II said appointing a new DCE will halt all the ongoing projects because it will take time for the new DCE to learn the rudiments of Assembly processes before getting accustomed to it, which would slow down the rate of development of the infant district.
The Omanhene said, changing DCEs and MPs delays the progress of Ghana, hence their appeal.
Meanwhile Omankrado of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council NanaKwao Addo-Frakye said, this current DCE Solomon DarkoQuarm has been able to lobby for 5 Companies under 1District Factory and constructed Assembly Block, DCE and Directors Bangalore within two years.
He also indicated that the DCE has been able to eliminate Gomoa Buduburam Traffic congestion among other achievements which he stated as “Unprecedented infrastructural development in just 2 years in office; impressive IGF generation (1,112,000.00) as at June 2021; Very good rapport with traditional authorities; six 1D1F factories; Acquisition of land at Akotsi for Industrial hub etc.”
Nana Kwao Addo-Frakye who was former Assembly man for Gomoa Potsin said, “Gomoa East DCE,Solomon Darko-Quarmneeds four more to do more.”
