The President’s nominee for the newly created Asokwa municipal in the Ashanti region, Mr. Akwanuasah Gyima has received massive endorsement from both elected assembly members and government appointees.
At voting, Mr. Akwanuasah Gyima secured 100% votes from the 12 elected Assembly members and 6 government appointees, confirming his position as the MCE for the Municipality.
The Member of Parliament for Asokwa Madam Patricia Appiagyei commended both the elected assembly members and the government appointees for the overwhelming endorsement they gave to the President’s nominee.
She appealed to them to offer their maximum support and cooperation for Mr. Akwanuasah Gyima to deliver his best in the interest of the development of Asanteman and the nation at large.
Madam Patricia Appiagyei who is also the Deputy Minister for Environment, Science and Innovation, expressed her profound gratitude to the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for considering Asokwa to be amongst the 38 newly created MMDAs and promised her maximum support for the new MCE to put up his best towards the development of the Municipality.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah in an address hinted that the region was privileged to secure 13 additional assemblies and that the nominees have been endorsed without any hindrance.
He hoped that others who are yet to be endorsed will also sail through.
Mr. Osei Mensah appealed to the assembly members to give out their maximum support for Mr. Akwanuasah Gyima to deliver since his major aim is to partner assembly members to champion development and government’s agenda.
He urged the MCE to relate well with all the assembly members so as together, they can move the development agenda of the Municipality forward.
