After nearly three years of vacuum on the administration of the Osu Shrine, the Osu Ashante elders and the principal head of family of Noi Tsuru We have over the weekend installed a new Wulomo in a grand ceremony to oversee the spiritual needs of its people.
The Worlumo Boni Nuumo Noi Osekan Kpeneku II, Osu Klotey Nadu Wulomo who is also known in private life as Jesse Nortey Ala was duly installed on the 27th July 2018 after going through all the rituals without a hitch.
The rituals included the fact that he Nuumo Noi Osekan Kpenuku II be brought to Osudoku, the original root of Osu for a one week purification rites before he is sent to Worlumo Nuumo Gborbu, the ‘shitse’ who is the historical and traditional owner of Osu Klottey deity.
At Nugua, another one week initiation and confinement rite is performed for him to qualify him to become Osu Klottey Nadu Wulomo.
A little background to the root of his title as the rightful Klottey Nadu Wulomo shows that the first Wulomo of Osu the late Nii Noi Osekan V, Osu Klottey Wulomo came from the Osu Ashante, Noi Tsuru We and died in 1952.
Ataa Narh (aka Odor-omli) from Agbeti We also took over from the Noi Tsuru We and nominated the Ahunu Wulomo who is the Laabia to the Klottey Wulomo and acted as the Osu Klottey Wulomo for about 30years.
On his demise Narku Agbeti II was made the Klottey Wulomo, he died 2 years ago, and the right of selection went back to the Noi Tsuru We, the head of family together with elders selected Jessy Nortey Ala, the son of John Narku Nortey and great grand son of Nii Noi Osekan Tsuru and a patrilineal Grand son of Noi Osekan V, and was handed him over to the Osu Ashante Dzaase for His installation.
