Your excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, this will be our third letter to you and about sixth letter to the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General as well as the office of the chief justice since the year 2013 regarding the gruesome murder of our beloved Kwadwo Boakye, a sub-chief at the Akwatiahene’s Palace by the suspect Justice Quaye Frimpong,
Mr. President, the late Kwadwo Boakye was gruesomely murdered in 2011 by one Justice Quaye Frimpong. His body was conveyed from the St Dominic Hospital Morgue at Akwatia to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy due to the strange and deadly nature of the case. After some investigations, a report was sent to the Attorney General’s Office for advice and prosecution. At the time Justice Quaye Frimpong, the suspect was charged with murder and remanded into prison custody for almost six months while he attended court trials. After six months, the suspect was released from custody with no reason and freed and the case was truncated.
We did some follow ups and were told that the docket covering the case was missing. With that information, we knew that something had gone wrong and money had changed hands. So we engaged some media organizations to help us air out our grievances, when the media houses began publishing some stories on the missing dockets and exposing the evil activities of the prosecutors , we were told that the dockets had been found and they case continued. Justice Worlanyo Kotoku at the Accra Circuit court was one of the Judges who handled the case until it was transferred back to Asamankese in 2017.
Last year we got a call from the Koforidua branch of the office of the Attorney General confirming that the Attorney General had authorized them to reopen the case and undertake further investigations which they would start soon. We were so excited that finally Justice was going to be served. Unfortunately we haven’t heard from them again and it seems nobody cares about the ordinary people anymore. Nobody is above the laws of this country.
